Family Comes First: Launching our Parental Leave benefits
We are thrilled to announce our new parental leave benefits! At RUSH, we believe in supporting and empowering families as they navigate the exciting and challenging journey of parenthood.
Our new parental leave benefits are designed to give parents the time and resources they need to bond with their new child, adjust to their new role as parents (it’s a big one!), and make a smooth transition back to work. We are committed to creating a workplace culture that values and supports families, and we believe that our new benefits help make that happen.
Our parental leave benefits include:
Time off:
- 6 week paid leave for primary carers
- 2 weeks paid leave for partners
- No clawback
We know that becoming a parent is a massive life event, and we want to make sure that our employees have the support they need during this time. That's why we offer six weeks of top-up paid leave for RUSH employees who are primary carers, which will help ease the financial burden of taking time off work to care for a new child. Additionally, we provide two weeks of paid leave for RUSH employees who are partners, recognising the important role that partners play in the care of a new child.
When baby is here:
- A care package to welcome the new baby including meal vouchers
- Additional specialist support sessions for primary carer’s through our Wellbeing platform IGNITE
Support doesn’t stop when the baby arrives. We know that parents need all the help they can get; whether it’s meals to help in those first few weeks, or specialist counselling or support, we’ve got our people covered.
Return to work:
- Option of 3 months part-time return to work
- Hybrid and flexible working ongoing
We also understand that the return to work after parental leave can be challenging. That's why we offer a flexible return to work, which allows parents to adjust their work schedule and responsibilities as needed.
Parental Leave Register
We are proud to say that The New Zealand Parental Leave Register by Crayon inspired us to do the final push we needed to get these benefits finalised. Launching in a month’s time, this register will help promote transparency when it comes to parental leave benefits. It’s a real game changer for aspiring and expecting parents and we’re committed to being a part of this movement towards greater support for families.
As we approach International Women's Day, we recognise the importance of parental leave in the pursuit of equality. We know that women are disproportionately affected by the lack of parental leave benefits, and the long-term effects this can have on their career progression. We want to do our part to change that along with the other employers committing to transparency by joining the parental leave register. By offering these benefits, we hope to create a more equitable and supportive workplace for all parents, regardless of gender.
Whilst we are thrilled to announce our new parental leave benefits, we acknowledge that this is just the beginning. We are committed to supporting families and creating a workplace that values and empowers all of our employees.
